All About Isabelle

Isabelle is now five weeks old and turned one month old this past Sunday. I thought I would share some details about her and add more pictures to keep everyone up to date...

Name: Isabelle Allyse
Age: 5 weeks

Milestones:
4/9 first doctors appointment -- it did NOT go well...and I'm never going back there again!
Stats at two weeks:
Weight: 75th percentile
Height: 75th percentile
Head Circumference: 90th percentile
4/18 she really started to smile
4/18 stayed with a baby-sitter for the first time (my mom)
4/21 her umbilical cord stump FINALLY fell off and we gave her her first official bath
4/25 she coo'd for the first time while Heidi was playing with her

Likes: Eating, listening to Mommy or Daddy sing Primary songs, having her hands played with, looking at lights and at corners of the ceiling/wall, being outside, going for walks and sleeping on Mommy
Dislikes: being patient while Mommy gets ready to feed her, being in the car seat when it is not moving, when her parents try and give her a bottle or the pacifier, getting dressed or undressed, having her eyes wiped (she has clogged tear ducts so we are having to wipe and clean her gunky eyes all the time) and most of all the hiccups

Other Details: Isabelle is finally sleeping in her bassinet. She will only sleep on her stomach though.

As I said above, Isabelle loves to have her hands played with. She is so funny. She likes when we take her hands and use them to smash her cheeks or push on her nose. She likes to play the hokie pokie and patty cake.

Some of my favorite pictures from the past week or so: (can you tell Curt is the one who takes most of the pictures?)

4/15: playing with Daddy

4/18: she needed her mommy after being left with Grandma for several hours

4/19: so hungry she's trying to eat me

4/25: comforting Heidi after Heidi's bad day

4/27: hanging on to me...can you tell she's attached?

Skinny Jeans and my Wedding Ring

For our one year anniversary, Curt and I left Isabelle with my mom and we went out to dinner and ran some errands. I was really excited because for the first time since January, I was able to put my wedding ring on. I'd been so swollen that it hasn't fit at all. I was also able to put on my skinny jeans. Talk about a great anniversary present to myself! :) By the end of the night, I was definitely hurting though from the pressure they put on my incision. Ever since it has been yoga pants for me. For dinner we went to La Hacienda Ranch...which is my favorite place. Their stake fajitas are to die for... I could eat them every day, but it is way too expensive to eat them very often. Overall it was great to have a break, be alone with Curt, eat really good food and run errands without having to drag the baby and all her stuff around...I just wish I wasn't so tired the whole time. I guess I should get used to that though...

Happy Anniversary

In honor of Curt's and my first anniversary, I thought I would finally post some of my favorite wedding pictures...

Curt asked me the other day about how I thought our first year of marriage went. I told him it was the best year of my life yet. He then questioned my answer because I was pregnant 9 months of the year. I laughed and said, "Okay so maybe it wasn't the best year of my life yet." :) However, I can honestly say, Curt is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I think I'll stick with my original answer...despite being pregnant.

Almost Three Weeks

Tomorrow Isabelle will be three weeks old. In some ways I can't believe three weeks have already gone by...too bad three weeks didn't go by this quickly while I was pregnant! In other ways, I can't believe it has only been three weeks. I'm already ready for a break...and I'm definitely ready to be pain-free. (When will that be?) For the most part, I really have nothing to complain about. She is really good. She loves baths and being held. She doesn't really like getting her diaper changed, but can you blame her? :) She doesn't even spit up very much at all. In fact, we could probably count the amount of times she's spit up. She isn't very good at falling asleep or sleeping without being held though. It is driving both Curt and I crazy that we have to hold her at night to get any sleep. We don't quite know what to do. We are both really bad about letting her cry and hate just leaving her, but we may have to start. It is only getting worse with each passing night. It is hard to get motivated to get her out of our arms too because at least she sleeps and in turn we sleep that way. I don't know...

Here are some pictures since our last post though... Enjoy! :)

Her hands get so cold we have to put socks on them...

When her hair is wet it is actually a little bit curly. It doesn't stay...but at least there is some hope!
We went on a walk for the first time last Friday. She promptly fell asleep...then woke up as soon as we came back in.

I can't even tell you how much her Daddy loves her...

Trying to get her to fall asleep... And now, for everyone who requested a picture of me, there are some pictures of me with Isabelle on here. In my defense, if anyone had looked as sick as I did for so long after the c-section, you wouldn't have taken pictures either. I was all sorts of shades of gray, green and ghostly white. It wasn't pretty...ask anyone who came to see me.

She's getting even cuter...

Just because it's been a week and she's only gotten cuter... :)
