Impromptu Tea Party

It's been one of those weeks. Well, really it's been one of those months. You know...the week/month, heck, year that nothing seems to be working out. Yep, welcome to our lives. However, we did get to go on a date (thanks Chandler). It's amazing that worked out. I should just focus on that. Back to the topic, it's been hard for me to stay positive lately. More days that have not, have seen tears lately. Mostly it really isn't even because of the girls...although they have been pretty rough too. This cutting molars has gotten them all bent out of shape. Poor girls. 

However, as much as we've had very hard days lately, today has actually been a decent day. I mean, nap time was too short, Emery still flips out every 15 minutes or so and throws a tantrum at the drop of a hat, but she's actually laughed today too. In fact, there have been so many giggles in our house today, even my down-in-the-dumps attitude has become more evened out. Well, a little bit at least. :) 

Remember how the girls love to play in the couch? Isabelle knows how to pull the cushions out now...and it's pretty much a daily occurrence. Today the girls turned on of the cushions into a table of sorts and had a little tea party. Emery was laughing hysterically at Isabelle for pretending the necklace was food. Then Isabelle started laughing tons. I was so glad I had the camera in hand to catch this sister bonding before the fights broke out. It's moments like these that I try to hang on to cause they make my heart smile. 

Like Father, Like Daughter

For the past month or so, Ella and Emery have been cutting their 1st year molars. I think Ella's probably got another week left and Emery still has both of her bottom molars to break through. You can see them, they just haven't broken through yet. She' probably got another two weeks or so. Hopefully, only that long! 

A few weeks ago, now, when Ella was cutting her first molar, she was so unhappy and just wanted to sleep. Curt was laying on the bed on a Sunday morning to take a nap and Ella went to climb up the foot board and join him. However, she only made it half way up. As soon as her top half was resting on the bed, she just stayed and started to fall asleep. After a couple of moments, I called to Curt to pull her the rest of the way up. She promptly fell asleep next to Curt. When I went in to take a shower later, this is what I found:

Today

Here we are...almost to the end of the day. Yay! That means it's almost the weekend too. Yay. That also means that Spring Break is just about over. Blah.

We have had such beautiful weather today that our back door has been opened almost the whole day and the girls have been outside playing a lot. I couldn't help but snap a few pictures of them outside. They just looked so cute. (thanks Mom for the outfits!!)

I think that last picture is so funny. We were all chasing each other to get smiles... 

I thought these pictures were so funny. Apparently Ella wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. :)

Surgery Scheduled

Today, Emery and I had a very early morning. She had a 7:30 appointment with a pediatric eye specialist. Since birth, she's had leaky eyes. Her left one is constantly leaking and never stops. Her right one comes and goes, but even when it is leaky, it isn't bad. They are leaky because she was born with clogged tear ducts. Most clogged tear ducts clear up by the time the baby is six months old. The odd cases that don't clear up by the time they're a year. (Isabelle's cleared up at around nine months, I think.) Rarely, it won't clear up by then either...and if that's the case, like Emery's, we had to go to see the eye specialist. At her age, there is little to no chance that it will unclog itself. Anyways, back to the exam...for as much as she doesn't like strange men, she was just about the perfect patient! The doctor dilated her eyes to give her a full eye exam. She did so well! He only struggled to get her to stay still once. He was very impressed with how still she was for him. So was I! Everyone there just loved her. While we were waiting the 40 minutes to have her pupils dilated, she played with her princesses and sang to them. She also carried my purse around her neck like a necklace. After her exam, she walked around with the roll up sunglasses they gave her. Everyone kept laughing at how cute she is. :) So, the doctor gave me the option to try eye drops with a steroid in it to see if it will unclog the tear duct. The chance of it working is about 5%, maybe as high as 10%. The other option is surgery. Emery hates eye drops, and why torture her for a week if the chance is so low anyways, so I scheduled the surgery. On April 11th, the two of us will go in and she'll be put under for her 10 minute surgery.
